Review & Giveaway: Vstream Vegan Blog Zine!

Update 4/2: The contest is now closed.  Congratulations to ELISABETH–you win the Vstream zine! :)   Thanks everyone for entering.

Vegan Mainstream is a vegan marketing agency dedicated to helping vegetarian and vegan businesses.  Basically, it’s their job to make sure that awesome products like Veggie Brothers vegan food and Food For Lovers vegan queso come to the attention of everyday vegans like you and me.  Founded by Stephanie Redcross, Vegan Mainstream is an important tool for aspiring vegan entrepreneurs.

Their latest endeavor is Vstream, a 54-page ‘zine focused exclusively on vegan blogs and blogging.  Packed with articles by some of Vegan Mainstream’s finest and peppered with glowing blog recommendations from vegan superstars like Isa Chanda Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero, this zine is a must-have resource for readers and writers of blogs.  Tips for readers include the best ways to discover and organize content and how to make time to read all the fantastic vegan stuff that’s being posted every day.  Seasoned bloggers will gain insight into what’s hot in the blogosphere as well as how to make use of social media to gain online visibility.

Vegan Mainstream’s vision for the ‘zine was to create a comprehensive resource for all vegans–newbies and hardcore alike.  Originally intended to be a 15-20 page guide, Vstream grew as more and more useful content came to light.  The wonderfully colorful pages are as fun to look at as they are to read, and the whole thing is capped off by a list of 200 vegan blogs for vegans, vegetarians, and the veg-curious to browse to their heart’s content.

For my part, Vstream has inspired me to become more active in the blogosphere and to consider new ways to make my blog interesting to readers.  It’s led me to check out some blogs that I had heard of but hadn’t yet seen (like Vegansaurus) and consider others that I might not otherwise have found out about (like Girly Girl Army).  It’s fun, it’s quirky, and it’s full of relevant information for today’s blog-loving vegan.

You can check out a sneak preview of Vstream at http://www.veganmainstream.com/vstream.  If you like what you see as much as I did, go ahead and get yourself a digital or print copy!  You won’t be disappointed.

Or you can enter the giveaway! The folks at Vegan Mainstream are offering a free copy of Vstream to one lucky Quantum Vegan reader.  I’m very excited to have this as the very first giveaway on my blog.  There are several ways to enter:

1) Leave a comment on this post telling how the growing vegan presence in the blogosphere has helped or influced your own vegan experience.
2) “Like” Vegan Mainstream on Facebook and leave a comment saying you did so.
3) Follow @VeganMainstream on Twitter and comment saying you did so.
4) “Like” Quantum Vegan on Facebook and comment to let me know you did.
5) Follow @QuantumVegan on Twitter and, you guessed it, leave a comment saying so!

A winner will be chosen at random on Tuesday, March 29th and will be notified via e-mail.  Good luck and happy blogging!

Update 3/28: Contest deadline has been extended to Friday, April 1st!  Come on, guys, get those entries in.  This is a zine worth having!

I am happy to see all the vegan sites coming up on twitter, facebook, and the blogs. These are helping to bring the vegan community together and support a compasionate way of living. It is also helping to expose non-vegans to how easy it is and how important it is. It has helped give me more information and recipes to support my own vegan lifestyle. I have already been following veganmainstream on twitter and was able to like both veganmainstream and quantumvegan on facebook and also find and follow quantumvegan on twitter.

I was inspired by other vegan blogs to start my own. I like reading vegan cooking blogs and finding inspiration for new recipes and food styling.
